The Great Fair

This weekend marked the 25th annual 'Great Fair' in Fountain Hills, AZ. So, early Sunday morning, we got up to go and see if we could catch a glimpse of some hot air balloons. We left just before eight and most of the balloons were already in the air. It was really nice to see them soaring over the mountains. At the park, the kids caught sight of green grass and excitedly ran up and down the hill! We saw a few vendors, a big balloon landed and being put away and many different kinds of cactus and colourful flowers in bloom. Jeff and I enjoyed some Mountain View coffee along the way. Ahhh coffee in the  morning! Gotta have it!

We couldn't linger too long as Jeff had a flight to catch. We returned later with Lisa and the kids however, it was much busier and hotter, so needless to say we didn't last too long. The event was quite similar to Kempenfest in Barrie, ON. Everything was beautiful- but definitely not cheap... Josh asked how much a piece of jewelry was that he liked to find out that it was a mere $560! I helped pull his jaw off the ground by explaining that it was 'art' and made out of gold and silver and is very time consuming and expensive to make.... :) Later, he found something more in his price range which involves a kewl magnetic clasp and a glass frog. (Thanks to Aunt Lynne and Uncle Rick's generosity) Lucas found caramel brownies which didn't make it home, they were so good!

The rest of the day was spent playing lego, riding bikes, walking Willow, trip planning and enjoying the warm weather.

We miss Daddy already- big time! But look forward to next weekend's adventures- starting with moving our site closer to the Platt's and backing onto the mountains, rocks and river.

Hope all is well with all of our readers!
