Yesterday, we went back to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido, CA to see animals, snow and yet another Festival of Lights.
This time we took Daddy with us! We have a membership here and wanted to get our money's worth and share it with Jeff.
We took the African bus tour and this time we watched the animals as they 'bed' down because it was almost dark. We saw some different birds and watched the Great White Pelican dive for food. We learned more about the animals as we sat in the front car this time and could hear the tour guide. He lit up the areas where we could see the animals eating, wandering and lying down getting ready for sleep. The giraffes were right up at the fence chomping away and looking right at us-an even closer view than the first time we saw them. Yay!
Another animal highlight was seeing the male lion walking around protecting his den and roaring at his 'women'. It was quite something to see and hear.
After our tour, we headed to the 'snow hill' so the kids could sled down the hill. It was quite amusing as after each group was finished, the teenage attendees, had to wipe the water off each crazy carpet-ever so slowly- and the other staff poked at the thin layer of snow with shovels- not sure what they thought they were doing. Anyways, the kids had fun although it was a very tiny hill. They left with wet butts and smiley faces. Following that we viewed a magic light show, ran around looking for a bathroom for Matt in the dark, saw the festival of lights and played at the park. Left just in time to get home to see the newest episode of 'Star Wars Clone Wars' on T.V. for the kids. All in all, lots of fun!
Daniel, we thought of you yet again as we saw this wonderful light show. Hope you like them!
