On Saturday morning, we made our way to the shark feeding exhibit
at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps. They feed the sharks every three days; individually to ensure they get all they need. They were hungry!
The aquarium is a place where the public can view and learn about the findings of
the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.
We saw and touched many examples of ocean life and learned about ocean conservation.
Some of the highlights were the lion fish, sea dragons, giant octopus, sharks, eels, sea nettles,
manta rays, tropical fish, sea horses and the kelp forest.
Matt and Josh touched star fish and tide pool plant life.
We enjoyed the views of the Institute and La Jolla Shores.
There was an amazing interactive educational section on global warming.
At the end, the boys got their favourite stuffies and mom got a real mug to drink her coffee from!
