I'm proud to say that I faced my fears today and drove to the San Diego Airport to pick up Jeff!
As some of you may know, I am not overly comfortable with highway driving, especially in a new place.
Yesterday, Jeff was coming home from Toronto and needed a ride.
So, I went for it and plugged our destination into the GPS, left 4 hours early and hopped on the highway!
I wanted to get there in daylight, so I could see where I was going easier. :)
Of course, it was Thanksgiving Day here, so instead of busy streets, it was pretty empty as everyone was already at home eating their turkey dinners.
The rain let up and we made it there unscathed. Phew!
Once we got there, we could see planes taking off and landing. Really cool.
So, we parked and walked around, ate fries and mentos, checked out the gift shops, talked to the Information and United Airlines staff, played math games and perused pamphlets of local places we wanted to go.
The kids watched the screen to see when Daddy was getting in.
Daddy figured we would pick him up at 'arrivals', but we didn't.
When 7:30 rolled around, the boyz ran out from behind the convenience store to surprise him.
So, on this special day of Thanks in the U.S., we are thankful for Daddy's return and Mommy's ability to overcome her fears! Yay!
