We Day 2011 -Kitchener

So, We Day was quite a rocking event!

We had so much fun with the We Day dance... seeing and hearing all the speakers and performers and getting into the spirit of giving of ourselves to help others and make this world a better place!

There were tons of kids and teachers...about 6,000 I believe.

As we arrived, my truck was sideswiped by a school bus (omen?) Thankfully, it only bent back my side mirror and there was no real damage. The driver did not stop. I was not overly impressed.

Once we got in though and I settled down from that, we were impressed by all the volunteers who were so helpful and enthusiastic dressed in bright, fun outfits.

The energy was incredible and they kept us on our toes!

Picture screaming, bouncing kids yelling out We Day and Freedom!!!... Al Gore, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Marc and Craig Kielburger, Mike "Pinball" Clemons, Lt. Governor of Ontario David Onley, Shawn Desman, The Barenaked Ladies, The Stereos and many more!

The message was strong and clear that the youth of our nation are the perfect candidates to effect change in their own communities and around the world.

The We Day organization and Free the Children provide opportunities, tools, trips and ideas to help you make good stuff happen!

There was so much taken from the day, that we are still processing it. The boys enjoyed it though and are interested in going back in November.

'WE DAY' Pre-show Activities!

Getting ready for We Day!

We are off to Kitchener bright and early tomorrow for a day with our peers, thousands of energetic youth and well-known leaders like Al Gore, Reverend Jesse Jackson, musicians: The Barenaked Ladies and many more...who will inform and inspire us to create positive change in the world on a local and global level!

A day to remember I'm sure.

On Valentine's Day, we gathered to create t-shirts and learn the We Day dance. Let's just say the girls were a little more excited about the dancing than the boys...well a lot... :)

Looking forward to it... I will post pics from tomorrow and share how it all went.

Have a great night!
