multiple hummingbirds and other birds,

beautiful mountain sunsets

bugs and lizards; cacti and rocks

quite simply, glorious peace and quiet

we had a family dinner around our table here friday night and

just breathed ahhhhh, this is the life!

Superstition Mountains

Arizona

Superstition Mountains are considered sacred to Native Americans.

Apache Indians believe that a Thunder God lives in the mountains.

Pima Indians believe that their ancestors are entombed inside, waiting to be released.

Early settlers started calling the mountains the Superstitions after listening to Indian legends.

Today, Superstition Wilderness are is managed by Tonto National Forest.

Fountain Hills, AZ

This is the largest continuously flowing fountain in the world.

It sprays water 560 feet into the air every hour and is located within a man-made lake.

It was quite a sight to see, especially as a rainbow appeared each time it went up while we were visiting.

We can view this fountain from just about any vantage point in this area, but being up close was really cool.
