Not sure if you've all given up on me or not. I have so much to catch up on with my blogging. Any other bloggers feeling that way?
I'd say that in a way it's a positive thing, 'cuz life is busy, life is good.
Just as I don't always feel to read, clean or create, I don't always feel like writing. I've actually let go of regularly contributing and commenting on flickr compared to what I used to do too. I imagine this will change again during wintertime. It seems to go in cycles...
Thought I would start by posting about our fun Hallowe'en 'season', yes, two weeks (here and there) of scary stuff, treats, yummy food, lots of friends and parties.... letting go and being silly!
We all got dressed up and headed to Mina, Dustin and Leila's annual Hallowe'en party. It was so great to see our friends. It had been a while. Mina put on an amazing spread with homemade soup, raw treats and great decorations. She was kind enough to share some of them with us to use at our party. Much appreciated! The kids had a wonderful time and we were so pleased to see Cindy, Maeg and Will, Kim, Paul, Wendy and her fam... plus new friends too! Lots of fun!
We also held a party for some of our friends that went into the evening. This was a special day that we had looked forward to -but was made even better when our butterfly was born on the morning of their arrival. (We had originally found the caterpillar when the same group came to our home on September 17th) -full circle. :) So, we all went back to where he had been found and tried to release him. It was a cold and windy day and he didn't much like that-don't blame him! More on his final release in another post.
The kids had fun at the zombie challenge, meeting the donkeys, playing wii, lego, pumpkin toss, bowling and just hanging out together. The ladies had lots of laughs-some adult content at the heart of the laughter. :)
On Hallowe'en Day, we went off to Erica and Jeff's place and had a blast. The kids and Jeff participated in their Haunted Porch and want to go back again next year! Although, Matt would like it to be again tomorrow! It was nice to meet more of the Kitchener unschoolers, see some of our new friends and help with the festivities and also, for me, watch Kelai trick-or-treat for the first time! What a cutie.
Finally, I have to say, it was pretty great hopping into the truck and while defrosting our bones and warming our butts on the seat warmers listening to the boys tell their stories with excitement as Jeff and I held hands and looked knowingly at each other that we had been a part of another lifelong memory for us all!
