Be(e) LoVe

Caroline was kind enough to organize a bee tour at the Bee Research Centre at the University of Guelph this week.

We all learned a lot about bees.

I was especially impressed with how calm Paul Kelly (the bee keeper) was with the bees.

His energy with the bees, helped to quell any predisposed fears I had.

He demonstrated how by just staying quiet and non-threatening, you could be around thousands of bees, touch them, touch their combs and not get stung! I think this will alter everyone's concerns about being around bees in the future (if they had any).

Also, as if we didn't revere them enough before, we certainly do now. Being up close and personal and learning the intricacies of what they do to make fabulous honey and provide food for the world...is just amazing!

Afterwards, we enjoyed a leisurely walk and picnic at the Arboretum. The boys found groundhogs and baby bunnies!

An all around wonderful adventure!
